LANSING, Mich. — Gray and gloomy weather expected today and you will need the umbrella this morning. Scattered showers and storms move across the area this morning with heavy rain at times. The rain should taper off some this afternoon, but a few showers will linger off and on through the day. Activity will be light through this evening before showers redevelop overnight. We will see a wide range of temperatures today. Highs only reach the low 60s north towards Lansing while locations south towards Jackson will be warmer with highs in the mid 70s.

Wednesday will gray and gloomy as well and it will be a split day with some folks seeing rain and others staying dry. Isolated showers and drizzle will last through the day tomorrow. Better chance of seeing showers for locations north of I-96, those south may stay dry all day. Mostly cloudy though across the state so we won’t be seeing much sunshine. Temperatures will also be a range again with highs in the mid 60s north and low 70s south.

Thursday and Friday we will finally catch a break from the rain. Drying out Thursday with decreasing clouds turning partly cloudy by the end of the day. Highs reach the mid to upper 60s Thursday afternoon. Partly cloudy skies, and thankfully, it stays dry Friday with highs in the upper 60s.

Warming slightly over the weekend. Highs in the mid 70s both Saturday and Sunday. Scattered rain and a few thunderstorms possible Saturday night into the morning hours Sunday. We should be dry by Sunday afternoon with some late day sunshine. Early next week looks like it will be calm with sunshine and highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.
