Foggy Start, Late Day Clearing

LANSING, Mich. — Dealing with some thick fog and patchy drizzle across the area this morning. Another gray and gloomy start to the day. Thankfully, high pressure will slowly begin to build in today and help with some clearing later in the day. We will eventually become mostly cloudy by late this afternoon. Temperatures today will continue to feel fall-like with highs in the mid 60s. Clearing continues tonight with skies turning partly cloudy. It will be chilly with lows in the mid to upper 40s.

Friday the sunshine finally returns. Starting partly cloudy then turning mostly sunny by Friday afternoon and it will be a little warmer too. Highs reach the upper 60s to near 70 degrees tomorrow. Staying clear Friday night with lows in the low 50s.

This weekend we continue to warm up. We'll see temps Saturday and Sunday in the mid 70s. Our next system brings a round of showers and thunderstorms through the state late Saturday night into Sunday morning. Rain fizzles out by Sunday afternoon and we will be dry for the rest of the day and even see late day clearing with sunshine moving in by the end of the day.

Calm weather returns for the start of next week. Mostly sunny Monday through Wednesday with moderating temperatures. It will be a bit cool Monday with highs near 70 degrees, warming to near normal temperatures for mid-September Tuesday with highs in the low to mid 70s. Getting warm by next Wednesday with highs in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees.
