LANSING, Mich. — Warmer than normal conditions following the first frost are collectively known in Native American folklore as "Indian Summer" in the Northern Hemisphere.

Those are exactly the type of conditions we'll have here over the next several days as we march towards the middle of October.

This stretch will feature highs in the upper 60s and low 70s, plenty of sunshine and lots of dry weather, too.

Conditions will likely become breezy on Wednesday but calmness drops in by the weekend, with Saturday looking absolutely incredible statewide.

Great opportunities to view the fantastic fall foliage await, with parts of Northern Michigan at or near their peak.

As fall color creeps downstate, it appears we'll have some pleasant weather to enjoy the advancement of the season!
