Cooler Week in Store Featuring Much Needed Rainfall

LANSING, Mich. — Good Sunday evening everyone! The cold front that we have been anticipating throughout the weekend is now moving through Mid-Michigan, sparking our cooling trend after a stretch of unseasonable warmth.

Currently, the front does not have a lot of moisture to work with, so we are really only seeing overcast skies from it, and maybe some drizzle out there in spots. Things change tonight however, as the leading edge of an upper level trough of low pressure nudges in from the west, providing better ingredients for precipitation. The result will be showers throughout the night, and then a steadier and heavier rain for much of the day tomorrow. We were approaching drought status across the region, so this rainfall is certainly needed!

The upper level trough will stick with us through the workweek and into next weekend bringing rounds of showers and temperatures that will continue to fall off by a couple of degrees each day, eventually only reaching the low 50′s for highs by the end of the week and into the weekend. Lows next weekend will start in the low to mid 30′s so we will likely see frost each morning. Best chances for rain will be Monday and Wednesday, and each morning through the middle of the workweek will likely start out with some fog as well.

Break out the umbrellas and jackets, and have a great week!
