LANSING, Mich. — Similar to yesterday, warm and above average temperatures are expected for our Friday. Today will be the last warm day before a cold front ushers in cooler air for the weekend. Temperatures will return to near-normal on Saturday and Sunday.
Plan for partly cloudy skies today with highs in the upper 50s. It will be gusty at times with westerly winds sustained between 10-20 mph and gusts to 30 mph possible. More clouds will arrive this evening and tonight, and overnight lows will fall into the mid 30s.
The cloud cover will continue to thicken up on Saturday as a system moves toward the Great Lakes Region. Both rain and snow showers will be possible Saturday night and into Sunday. The system is expected to pass just to the south of the state on Sunday, so we will remain on the colder side of this storm system. At this point, it looks like our precipitation will be in the form of both rain and snow, but some of our southern counties may see more in the way of snow on Sunday. It will be something to watch as we get closer to Sunday. High temperatures this weekend will be in the lower 40s.
We return to some sunshine on Monday with partly cloudy skies and highs in the lower 40s. Another system is expected to build in late Tuesday and into Wednesday.
