LANSING, Mich. — Winter returns today with cold air settling back in. Mostly cloudy today with temperatures starting the upper 20s and cooling into the mid 20s this afternoon. It will be windy with a west northwest wind at 15-25 MPH dropping our wind chills down into the teens all day. Friday starts with sunshine before the clouds increase. Highs right around normal in the low 30s. Snow moves in late Friday night and will be heavy at times with 2-4" of accumulation by Saturday morning. Heaviest snow will fall between 3-9 A.M. Saturday morning. Snow turns over to rain Saturday afternoon as temperatures rise to the upper 30s to near 40 degrees. Rain flips back over to snow Saturday night and we may see another 1-3" of accumulation. Snow will be wet and slushy and will likely cause bad road conditions. Snow lingers Sunday but will be little more than flurries. Cold air returns with highs in the low 20s! Dry with partly sunny skies Monday through Wednesday and it will be cold with highs in the 20s.
