LANSING, Mich. — The work week will start off unseasonably warm with high temperatures around ten degrees above average for this time of October. You’ll want to enjoy the warmth while it lasts, though! High temperatures are expected to plummet into the upper 40s by late this week.
Most of our Monday will be mostly cloudy, and then an approaching cold front will bring a line of rain and storms to the area this evening. Plan for breezy conditions this afternoon with highs in the lower 70s. Rain will west to east through the area tonight, and then we should dry out and see clearing skies after midnight. Low temperatures will drop into the mid 40s tonight.
Sunny skies return to the forecast on Tuesday with highs in the mid 60s. Wednesday will be nice with partly sunny skies and highs in the mid 60s. Temperatures will really begin to cool off by Thursday. Highs will be in the mid 50s early Thursday then cool down through the day instead of warming up with a few scattered rain showers possible.
Friday and Saturday will bring a few more isolated rain showers with highs only reaching the upper 40s. We should see some sunshine return on Sunday with high temperatures near 50 degrees.
