and last updated

LANSING, Mich. — Our work week is off to a chilly start with high temperatures expected to be around ten degrees below normal. Today will be the coldest day of the week, and then a general warming trend will start to take shape.

Today will be mostly cloudy with a few scattered rain showers possible. Plan for high temperatures in the upper 40s this afternoon. Skies will become partly cloudy late tonight and low temperatures will drop into the low to mid 30s. Tuesday will be partly sunny with highs in the lower 50s.

Another chance of rain will move into the region Tuesday night and into early Wednesday morning. Most of Wednesday will be dry with skies becoming partly sunny. Highs will warm to near 60 degrees on Wednesday afternoon.

A warm front will bring more scattered rain and possibly a few storms on Thursday with highs warming into the mid and upper 60s. Our warmest day of the week will be Friday with highs expected to be near 70 degrees. A cold front will move through Friday evening, which will bring a few scattered showers and thunderstorms and usher in colder air for the weekend.

Saturday will be mostly cloudy with highs near 50 degrees. Sunday will be similar with partly sunny skies and slightly warmer temperatures in the low to mid 50s. A chance for a few showers Sunday evening.
