Wharton Center and the company from The Sound of Music will be collecting funds at the end of each performance of The Sound of Music (February 9-14). This fundraiser, “Funds for Flintkids,” is a call for donations from the audience, company, producers and staff. The monies collected will be going to the Flint Child Health & Development Fund (Flintkids.org). This fund’s mission is to support critical interventions, research and therapies intended to mitigate the developmental and behavioral challenges facing Flint’s children -- now and far in to the future.

In addition, WSYM Fox47 coordinated a donation of 300 cases of water (worth $2,000) from Culligan Lansing. The cases of water will be delivered by the youngest members of The Sound of Music company to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan on Thursday, February 11.
