Former MSU football player Auston Robertson was formally charged with third degree criminal sexual conduct Tuesday afternoon. He could be facing up to 15 years in prison if found guilty.

The charges stem from an incident on April 9 in Meridian Township. The 19-year-old is accused of raping a young woman after walking her to her apartment.

Robertson was arrested Saturday in Fort Wayne, Indiana, after an arrest warrant was issued early Friday. Robertson, a sophomore, was kicked off the team Friday afternoon. He had already been suspended from the team.

After waiving his extradition Monday, he was brought back to Michigan Tuesday afternoon. He is currently being held at Ingham County Jail.

His bond is set at a 10% bond of $250,000.
