More than 350 Michigan State University undergraduate students, as well as visiting students from MSU summer research programs and students from select institutions, will showcase their research at the 2017 Mid-Michigan Symposium for Undergraduate Research Experiences, also known as Mid-SURE.

The symposium will be from 1-4 p.m. on July 26 at the Huntington Club at Spartan Stadium.

This event offers students the chance to be evaluated and to share their work with peers, faculty and other external audiences.

There are 14 different Mid-SURE categories:

Agriculture & Animal Science
Biochemistry & Molecular Biology
Biosystems & Agricultural Engineering
Cell Biology, Genetics & Genomics
Chemical Engineering & Materials Science
Civil & Environmental Engineering
Computer Science & Engineering

This event also features a graduate school recruitment fair that provides an opportunity for Mid-SURE participants to talk with graduate school recruiters from across the country about a variety of graduate studies programs and additional research opportunities.

Approximately one-third to half of the students participating in this event are from underrepresented populations in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
