MSU Shooting Sports Club Shotgun Team concluded a banner inaugural season, thanks to the efforts of senior Nicholas Ostrander and sophomore Marilla Marks who have set the bar high for future seasons.
Attending the South East Conference SCTP Championships held at Kent County Conservation League, Ostrander took High Over-All honors with a 95/100 in American Skeet, Marks placed second. The duo of Ostrander and Marks repeated for first and second in Sporting Clays as well.
At the Michigan State SCTP Championship, Ostrander won the coveted State Champion Buckle with an impressive 100/100, four perfect rounds of American skeet. He rounded out his daily performance with a third place finish in Sporting Clays, ending the course with a 96/100. Marks took second place in Ladies Sporting Clays with her personal best of an 88/100.
As a result of their performances at the conference and state shoots, both Ostrander and Marks were named to the Michigan SCTP All-State Team.
