The Ride of Silence is an event that honors fallen and injured cyclists globally and locally. According to the "Ride of Silence 2016 - MSU/E.Lansing/Lansing" Facebook page it takes place at Wells Hall Wednesday, May 18, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

They state that all riders are invited to join in the "solemn and reflective ride." They also note that supporters are invited to join them at the steps of The State Capitol at 7pm to show support along their route.

Registration is open from 5:15 p.m. until 6:05 p.m. and is located at the plaza east of Wells Hall on the MSU campus. They mention on the Facebook page, "there is no charge for this event and it will be the exclusive Tri-County Bicycle Association Wednesday night ride."

They plan to leave at 6:30 p.m. with a police escort. After the event there will be a brief memorial ceremony with options to return to MSU or join them after the event at Midtown Brewing Company where valet bike parking will be available.

Helmets are required for the event, they also suggest that you wear lights and bright clothing if you join them on the way back to MSU. The event will not be canceled if there is rain, but if it's a storm they will plan on moving the event to Saturday May 21, at 10 a.m.
