It was the first public appearance for President Lou Anna Simon since the LSJ editorial was published.
When asked about her thoughts on the LSJ article, she referred directly to the statement put out by MSU's Board of Trustees. MSU Board of Trustees said they disagreed with the editorial, going on to say that President Simon is a strong leader.
FOX 47's Marcus Dash spoke with Stephanie Angel, executive editor for the LSJ.
She says, Simon has done some great things for the school, but in order to for the community to truly heal, she needs to resign.
They had been studying all of the school's problems for years and it was at Larry Nassar's plea hearing when he said, his victims and the community needs to heal, is where they decided it was time to write the editorial.
The LSJ feels in order for MSU and the community to move on it starts at the top with President Simon.
