August 15th marks the first day of Michigan State University's ban on smoking.
The university is banning all tobacco products on their property, that includes cigarettes, chewing tobacco, vaporizers, and hookahs.
MSU says no tobacco products are safe and the ban is for the well being of the community.
The school will have resources available for students and faculty looking to quit smoking. They'll also inact a system of documenting people who do violate the ban.
