Michigan State University is going to help Haiti recover from a devastating category-five hurricane.

Hurricane Matthew killed more than 1,000 people and caused nearly $2 billion in damage when it made landfall in October.

Haiti's bean production industry was hit especially hard and that's where MSU comes in.

The U.S. Agency for International Development picked Michigan State to distribute high quality bean seeds through a $2 million federal grant.

That should be enough to get 6,000 farmers back on their feet.
