The Michigan State University Department of Theatre will conclude its 2015-2016 Season of Journeys by performing “Grease” from April 15 – 24 at the Wharton Center’s Pasant Theatre.
MSU has been honored with the opportunity to perform all of the original lines from the 1972 Broadway production, making this performance of “Grease” especially unique from recent versions.
In the original, director Brad Willcuts said the characters, “…revealed truths of repressed American culture and actually empowered women’s sexuality instead of undermining it.”
The cast is rounded out with multiple lead roles played by MSU students, including:
Shelby Antel – BFA Acting sophomore as Sandy
Lukas Jacob – BFA Acting sophomore as Danny
Blaine Mizer – BFA Acting senior as the Teen Angel
Elspeth Williams –MFA Design, third-year student, as costume designer
Kenzie Carpenter– BFA Design senior as lighting designer
