Posted

MSU senior Stefanie Haapala is going on tour with music artist Kojithis April 2-4, 2016 in Lansing, Detroit and Muskegon. As a high school student, Haapala used to attend Koji's concerts and now she will be opening for him on stage.

Haapala describes her music as "emotional" and "grounded." She received her first guitar in 6th grade and that's when she began her songwriting.

"My music is more in a story than it is in a complex musical arrangement," Haapala said. "I think I pick up on small details and I want to write about the moments that kind of fall between the sidewalk cracks."

Haapala said as an entertainer, she tries to connect to her audience. She has recently performed at The Crofoot, Mac's Bar, and Blind Pig.

On Friday, March 18, Haapala and her live band performed at The Loft in Lansing. She has a full album and two expended play albums available on her Bandcamp page.
