Michigan State University has released a report prepared by an external law firm the university hired, who conducted an independent investigation into the football program staff member's compliance with university policy in connection with the sexual assault allegations.

MSU retained Jones Day to perform an independent investigation of the football program's response to sexual assault allegations made that involved three football players in January of 2017.

While the firm was conducting the investigation, a fourth football player was involved in a separate incident of alleged sexual assault in April 2017. MSU then expanded the firm's direction to include the second incident.

The firm's report concluded that in both incidents, senior leaders within the football program and the athletic department complied with the university's "Relationship Violence & Sexual Misconduct" (RSVM) policy.
