Michigan State University moved up four spots, to No. 78, in the latest U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities rankings, which analyzed 1,000 institutions.
Among U.S. universities, MSU ranked 45th, up one spot from last year.
U.S. News also ranked universities in various subject areas. MSU ranked in the top 25 globally in four disciplines:
Plant and animal science, 11
Agricultural sciences, 24
Environment/ecology, 24
Economics and business, 25
