Michigan State University’s Michigan Political Leadership Program will host a postelection wrap-up discussion Nov. 11 at the East Lansing Marriott.

The public is invited to the free event featuring Lansing journalist Tim Skubick and several pundits, analysts and columnists. Co-hosted with the Michigan Political History Society, the event begins at 4 p.m. with a reception following at 6 p.m. Seating is limited.

“We’re looking forward to look back on Michigan’s role in a momentous election,” said Matt Grossmann, director of MSU’s Institute for Public Policy and Social Research, which houses MPLP. “Our panelists will analyze what happened and tell us what changes the results will bring.”

The event comprises three parts:

  • Election recap at 4 p.m. features Steve Mitchell of Mitchell Research and Communications and Bernie Porn of EPIC-MRA.
  • Pundits’ perspectives at 4:30 p.m. features Kaitlyn Buss and Kathy Hoekstra of the Detroit News, Susan Demas of Inside Michigan Politics and Darci McConnell of McConnell Communications.
  • Where do we go from here? at 5:15 p.m. features Grossmann, Susy Avery, former chair of the state Republican Party and Rick Wiener, former chair of the state Democratic Party.
