The Michigan State University Police Department say they discovered a body on the south side of campus around 11:40 a.m Wednesday, in a heavily wooded area east of the Baker Woodlot.

MSU spokesman Jason Cody has confirmed that a body found Wednesday is that of missing student Patrick Kegan Cochrane.

Cochrane was reported missing early in the morning on April 9. Police were concerned that he may have wanted to harm himself. Information gathered by police and posted on Cochrane’s social media indicated he had plans to take his own life.
