MSU Debate qualifies for national championship

Posted

Michigan State University debate teammembers Connor Munsinger and Luc Walkington have qualified for a spot at the National Debate Tournament.

Munsinger, an Honors College sophomore majoring in computer science, and Walkington, a freshman majoring in international relations, will join their teammates, Tyler Thur and Margaret Strong, in representing MSU at the national tournament.

Typically, universities can only send two teams to the national tournament.

“We are excited to be sending two strong teams on to nationals,” said Debate Head Coach Will Repko. “MSU debate has competed well this season and a strong performance at the NDT is what we are focused on.”

Seventy-eight teams will compete at the national tournament, which will be held at Binghampton University in New York from March 31 to April 4.

The MSU debate team is part of the Honors College.
