As expected, Michigan State confirmed Tuesday the appointment of Danton Cole as the hockey team's new head coach.
Cole, 50, played in high school at Lansing Waverly.
He is an 18 year coaching veteran, most recently coaching the national under 18 team out of Ann Arbor.
Cole replaces Tom Anastos who stepped down after six seasons.
MSU had a 7-24-4 record this past season.
