MSU bans hoverboards on campus

Hoverboards are no longer welcome on Michigan State University's campus.

The board of trustees approved banning the devices inside all buildings and on university property. Those new rules are effective as of this weekend.

Earlier this year MSU banned hoverboards from residence halls. The university says this outright ban is the best option since there are too many safety concerns, including fire risks.

Hoverboards can not be used, stored or charged on Michigan State's campus.
