Police have taken into custody the Mississippi man accused of murdering a Michigan State University student in East Lansing on Oct. 12.

The 30-year-old man was taken into custody on an open murder arrest warrant late last week in Grove City, Ohio.

He was arrested for shooting 22-year-old Isai Berrones outside of an off-campus apartment complex in the 2500 block of Abbot Road, which is about 2 miles north of the Michigan State campus.

The shooting happened at around 2:44 a.m. during a fight.

Berrones was taken to the hospital where he later died.

He was from Alamo, Texas. Berrones was a Michigan State University student.

Police have not released the suspect's name or picture.

His identity will be released once he is arraigned.
