Former MSU hockey coach Ron Mason passes away at 76

MSU hockey coach Tom Anastos has confirmed that former MSU hockey head coach and athletic director Ron Mason has passed away at the age of 76.

Ron Mason coached MSU hockey from 1979-2002, with an NCAA win for the program in 1986.

After he stepped down as head coach, he served as athletic director at MSU from 2002-2008.

On May 19, 1994, Mason was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame. On December 2, 2013, Mason was inducted into the U.S Hockey Hall of Fame.
