What makes a great college experience? Is it the educational growth the students receive, the social atmosphere or, for many, being “on their own,” for the first time?
There are many factors for what makes a great college experience, and it can very from student to student. But WalletHub wanted to delve into not only the campus, but the cities that house them.
WalletHub looked at numerous factors, and came up with the best, and worst, college cities. And our very own East Lansing made it towards the top of the list.
East Lansing, which is home to Michigan State University, came in at No. 2 on the list for best college city. It was beat out by Oxford Ohio, by roughly 5 points.
When coming to this decision, WalletHub took into the cost of living and education; the social environment including nightlife, cafés, attractions and festivals; as well as academic and economic opportunities.
Ann Arbor, home to the University of Michigan, also made the list, coming in at No. 7.
