Cop sues over Mateen Cleaves case

Posted

One of the police officers who investigated the Mateen Cleaves sex assault case claims he was pressured to make the former MSU "All American" look guilty.

The Detroit News reports Mundy Township Officer Brian Ogle is suing the township and the police department.

Ogle and two other officers were first on the scene when the assault was reported last September.

He says they found no probable cause of a crime being committed.

The lawsuit claims Ogle was punished when he reported the pressure to the prosecutor's office. Cleaves is charged with four felonies including criminal sexual conduct.

He could get 15-years in prison if convicted. A woman claims he assaulted her after a charity golf outing in genesee county.
