Alternative Spartan Breaks have been sending students to different domestic locations for 25 years this year.
They celebrated that milestone on Sunday at an alumni brunch at 'The View' in Cooley Law School Stadium.
The organization sends students on a week-long trip to address social issues in different communities around the world and right here in the U.S.
"We don't want to just go somewhere for a week and only change that community. We want to increase the community involvement we have here in Lansing," said Savannah Crull, events and fundraising chair for Alternative Spartan Breaks. "So getting our students to bring that information back and getting them to make the change here in Lansing. And that's our goal."
Representative Sam Singh was the keynote speaker at the event and he took part in Alternative Spartan Breaks as well. He spoke on previous experience as a participant and the importance of service across the country and around the world.
