Twenty more women have joined in on the lawsuit against Dr. Larry Nassar, MSU and USA Gymnastics. The women accuse Nassar of sexually assaulting them during medical treatments. This brings the total number of plaintiffs to 78. Five other lawsuits name Nassar and USA Gymnastics.
The lawsuit was originally brought to light by former gymnast Rachel Denhollander and 19 other women.
Nassar, 53, of Holt is facing 28 criminal charges split between state and federal court.
The federal cases include accusations of receiving and possessing child pornography involving a minor younger than 12. His trial on those charges is scheduled to begin on May 23rd. Two of the state cases against him are being handled by the attorney general's office which include charges of molesting the young daughter of a family friend in Ingham County.
Nassar worked for MSU from 1997 until 2016 when he was fired. He worked with USA Gymnastics in 1986 until 2015 when he left with little notice.
His medical license has been suspended. He also worked at Twistars Gymnastics in Holt.
The court documents filed today claim Nassar made inappropriate sexual comments and digitally penetrated the woman both vaginally and anally.
Nassar faces life in prison if convicted of the first-degree criminal sexual conduct charges.
