EAST LANSING, Mich. — Michigan State women's gymnastics head coach Mike Rowe [msuspartans.com] announced the Spartans' 2020 schedule Monday.

The schedule is highlighted by five home meets at Jenison Field House, including Big Ten opponents Ohio State (Jan. 18), Nebraska (Jan. 26) and Illinois (Feb. 16).

"We're really excited about our 2020 schedule. This season ultimately affords our Spartan fans three Big Ten home meet opportunities, with Nebraska, Ohio State and Illinois. Unfortunately, that also means not seeing Michigan until the Big Five meet on February 23 in Toledo," MSU gymnastics head coach Mike Rowe [msuspartans.com] said.

MSU gymnastics will be participating in the Elevate the Stage event in Toledo, Ohio on Sunday, Feb. 23, that will serve as the B1G Five Meet for the second year in a row.

"The Big Ten Conference is the largest women's gymnastics conference in the country, and it continues gaining strength each year and the Spartans are optimistic that we will be bringing a new game with a few surprises for our opponents and fans in 2020," Rowe said.

The team opens the 2020 season at Western Michigan on Sunday, Jan. 5 at 1 p.m. MSU closes out the first month of competition with three-straight home meets.

"We're a young team this year and have some great leadership coming from all classes, but their youth is not reflected in their commitment, passion, hunger and tenacity to bring their best gymnastics to the arena, one meet at a time," Rowe said.

MSU will host a tri meet with Central Michigan and Illinois State on Saturday, Jan. 11, followed by the Big Ten opener on Jan. 18, as the Spartans host Ohio State at 7 p.m.

"We are definitely looking forward to the return of our Spartan fans to Jenison Field House on Sunday, January 11, when we meet Central Michigan and Illinois State in our home opener," Rowe said. "This will also be the introduction of our new student section, the 'Jenison Gym-Jammers!' We can't wait to see all our fans on January 11!"

Michigan State closes out the first month of competition at home against Nebraska on Sunday, Jan. 26 at 2 p.m.

February stands as a full month of competition for Spartan gymnastics, with the team traveling for four away matches and only one home meet in East Lansing.

MSU takes to the road for two-straight meets, starting on Saturday, Feb. 1, traveling to Iowa City for the first Big Ten road meet at Iowa. Spartan gymnastics will then travel to Rutgers on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 1:30 p.m. in a meet that will be televised nationally on the Big Ten Network.

Michigan State returns home for a Big Ten meet against Illinois on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 2 p.m.

The Green and White travels to Iowa State on Friday, Feb. 28 at 7:30 p.m. to close out the month of the February and then opens March by hosting Eastern Michigan for Senior Day on Saturday, March 7 at 7 p.m.

MSU closes out the regular season on the road in California on Friday, March 13, in a quad meet at UC Davis with Cal, Brown and host UC Davis, which is slated for a 10 p.m. ET start.

The 2020 Big Ten Championships are scheduled for March 20-22 in Columbus, Ohio and will be hosted by Ohio State.
