Oakland University basketball coach Greg Kampe nearly died in July from a blood infection.
An infected kidney stone led to blood poisoning which landed him in Crittenden Hospital with a 106.7 degree temperature.
Kampe told Detroit Free Press' Perry A. Farrell: "I don’t know if this is true or not, but they told me 80% of the people in my age group who get it die from it. They saved my life."
The good news: Kampe says he should be 100% in time for the start of the upcoming season.
