Every non-profit has had difficulties and challenges in adjusting to life during the COVID-19 pandemic. Make-A-Wish is no exception.

It takes a team to make things come together.

The Pistons assisted in granting the wish of Dylan, a Commerce Township nine-year-old battling Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD), a progressive genetic disease.

Pistons mascot Hooper helped enhance his wish, to have the Pistons design apparel to help raise awareness for his illness.

Former NBA player Tim McCormick and his wife, Michelle McCormick, helped deliver the gifts.

This weekend, Make-A-Wish Southeast Michigan is hosting its annual Wish Ball on a virtual platform this Saturday, October 17 at 7 p.m. Scheduled appearances include wish kids, community leaders including Steve Yzerman, and WXYZ's Brad Galli, who will serve as emcee.
