Former Detroit Red Wings star Pavel Datsyuk is in his first season in the Kontinental Hockey League after retiring from the Red Wings last year.
The 38-year-old forward has already made headlines with an awesome shootout goal in the All Star game, but now he is showing off a skill rarely seen by Datsyuk in the NHL: Laying a huge hit.
According to TSN, Datsyuk and SKA Saint Petersburg were tied 1-1 with HC Dynamo Moscow when he destroyed the other player with a the hit. It earned him a game misconduct and 25 total penalty minutes during the game, according to TSN.
The 25 minutes Datsyuk got for the hit are more penalty minutes than he has had in any NHL season, except 2003-04 where he had 35 penalty minutes, according to Hockey Reference.
