Niklas Kronwall was certain last season wouldn't be his last.
On the day the Red Wings cleaned out their lockers after missing the postseason for the first time in nearly three decades, the 36-year-old said he had full intent to return to Detroit.
Five months later, he's glad he made that decision.
"My body's feeling better than it's been in some time, so I'm anxious to get going," he said on Thursday.
Kronwall has missed a total of 43 games the last two seasons. He's set to make his preseason debut on Thursday night.
