(WXYZ) -- The Detroit Lions are requesting an interview with Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator Todd Bowles for their head coaching vacancy, according to a report from NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Prior to being hired by Tampa Bay in 2019, Bowles spent four seasons as head coach of the New York Jets. He reportedly also interviewed with the Lions in 2009.

Timing of a potential interview with Bowles would be determined by the outcome of Tampa Bay's playoff game Saturday night.

The Lions have completed interviews with four head coaching candidates, according to NFL.com's interview tracker: interim head coach Darrell Bevell, Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, Arizona State co-defensive coordinator Marvin Lewis, and San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh.
