ALLEN PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) -- For Lions safety Glover Quin, the lingering effects of Hurricane Harvey are very personal.
Quin, who played four seasons for the Houston Texans before joining the Lions in 2013, still owns a home in the Houston area where his family currently lives.
"It's awful," Quin told reporters following Sunday's practice. "Pictures that I see, watching the Weather Channel all day, all night. The last few nights, I haven't gone to sleep til 3, 4 o'clock in the morning, watching as much as I can."
While Quin said he feels like his home is in a safe area from the flooding, he's spent a good amount of time trying to keep his wife calm.
"She's a little overwhelmed. You've got everyone that's seeing it on TV blowing her phone up, blowing my phone up, telling her to leave, and just trying to stay calm through all of that."
