(WXYZ) -- The Detroit Lions interviewed San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh Thursday for their head coaching vacancy.
Saleh, expected to be a popular candidate, interviewed with the Atlanta Falcons on Monday.
A group of Michigan legislators signed an open letter to the Lions in December asking the team to consider hiring Saleh, a Dearborn native.
The Lions also announced Thursday they had interviewed Minnesota Vikings V.P. player personnel/assistant general manager George Paton and Los Angeles Rams director of college scouting Brad Holmes for their general manager vacancy.
