Detroit Lions hire Brian Callahan as QB coach

The Detroit Lions announced on Monday they hired Brian Callahan as the new quarterbacks coach.

Callahan previously served as the quarterbacks coach and offensive assistant with the Denver Broncos.

The Broncos have had one of the most consistent offensives in the league, with Callahan playing a huge role working with Peyton Manning.

In 2014, they ranked fourth in total offense and second in scoring offense.

Callahan is one of many hires the team has made under new General Manager Bob Quinn.

Other hires include:

  • Al Golden - Tight Ends Coach
  • Michael McCarthy - Offensive Line Coach
  • David Walker - Running Backs Coach
  • Kyle O'Brien - Director of Player Personnel
  • Harold Nash Jr. - Head Strength and Conditioning Coach
  • Josh Schuler - Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach
