Davenport football is welcoming 24 recruits to the program in the 2020 class. Head coach Sparky McEwen and his staff focused on the Panther defense, with 16 of the signees coming on that side of the ball, including Mona Shores linebacker Kolbe Trovinger.

"I'm excited about the fact that we've bolstered our defensive numbers," head coach Sparky McEwen said. "We've lost some guys on that side of the ball last year, so to add some depth inside with our transfers is great. To lose a Kyle Black at middle linebacker, a guy that is well respected in our conference, we follow up and replace him with Elysee Mbem-Bosse, a guy that played for the University of Michigan that is going to come in, step in and play big for us."

12 of the Panthers' 24 signees hail from the state of Michigan, two of those coming from West Michigan in Trovinger and Fruitport wide receiver Ethan Flores.
