DETROIT (WXYZ) -- The Tigers have traded relief pitcher Justin Wilson and catcher Alex Avila to the Cubs, according to a report from MLB Network's Jon Heyman with additional details from Tigers beat writer Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press.

The deal would be Justin Wilson and Alex Avila for Jeimer Candelario, Isaac Paredes and a Player To Be Named Later or cash, I'm told.

According to Fenech, the Astros, Nationals, and Dodgers were also in the running for Wilson.

Jeimer Candelario has primarily spent the 2017 season with triple-A Des Moines, hitting .266 with 12 home runs and 52 RBI in 81 games. He has also appeared in 11 games with the Cubs, with five hits and 3 RBI in 33 at-bats.
Isaac Paredes has spent the 2017 season with single-A South Bend, hitting .264 with seven home runs and 49 RBI in 92 games.
