The Detroit Tigers are planning to host a holiday dinner for kids in need.

Nearly 50 children and teens will be treated to a holiday dinner at Lakeside Grille followed by a surprise shopping spree inside Oakland Mall on December 11, according to a news release from the organization.

Tigers broadcaster Dan Dickerson and his wife Lori Anne along with Fox Sports Detroit broadcaster Rod Allen and PAWS will be in attendance.

The children and teens selected to join in the special event are from the Black Family Development and South Oakland Shelter.
