(WXYZ) -- Michigan State wide receiver Ricky White has been named Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week for his performance in the Spartans' 27-24 win over Michigan.
White caught eight passes in Saturday's win, setting a school record for a freshman with 196 receiving yards. His 30-yard touchdown reception opened the Spartans' scoring in the first quarter.
This is White's first Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor. He shares the honor this week with Northwestern safety Brandon Joseph.
Michigan State's last Big Ten Freshman of the Week recipient was quarterback Rocky Lombardi on October 29, 2018.
