Three of golf's four Majors have been rescheduled amid the COVID-19 outbreak, the PGA Tour announced on Monday.
The Masters, which were supposed to take place this week, will now take place Nov. 9-15.
The U.S. Open, scheduled for June, will take place Sept. 14-20, and the PGA Championship, scheduled for May, will take place Aug. 3-9. All locations will remain the same.
On Monday, The R&A announced that the Open Championship would be canceled and moved to 2021.
"In collaboration with the leading organizations in golf, Augusta National Golf Club has identified November 9-15 as the intended dates to host the 2020 Masters Tournament," Augusta National Chair Fred Ridley said in a statement. "Along the way, we hope the anticipation of staging the Masters Tournament in the fall brings a moment of joy to the Augusta community and all those who love the sport."
Other events that are changed could become dates for events already canceled on the PGA Tour, including the Open Championship date and the date scheduled for the Olympics.
“In recent weeks, the global golf community has come together to collectively put forward a calendar of events that will, we hope, serve to entertain and inspire golf fans around the world. We are grateful to our respective partners, sponsors and players, who have allowed us to make decisions – some of them, very tough decisions – in order to move the game and the industry forward," a joint statement from all of the organizations read.
