The new home of the Detroit Red Wings will be called Little Caesars Arena.
"We couldn't be more excited to have Little Caesars Arena as the name," said Chris Ilitch, president and CEO of Ilitch Holdings.
The official announcement from Olympia Entertainment was made this morning at a news conference. The arena's name pays tribute to the pizza chain founded by the Detroit Red Wings' owners Mike and Marian Ilitch.
One fun tidbit: The world's largest Little Caesars character will apparently be depicted on the roof.
Tom Wilson, president and CEO of Olympia Entertainment, said the construction for the new arena is ahead of schedule.
