12:15 p.m. Wednesday

It appears that the Detroit Red Wings are done making trades with less than three hours until the trade deadline.

After trading Thomas Vanek to the Florida Panthers, John Shannon from SportsNet said the Red Wings are done making deals.

"They're done for the day," Shannon said. "There'll be no more deals out of Detroit this afternoon."

That means the team will keep players who had been rumored to be on the trading block, including Riley Sheahan and Luke Glendening.

The team traded Vanek to the Panthers in exchange for a third-round pick this year and Dylan McIlrath.

Other players traded include forward Steve Ott to the Montreal Canadiens, defeseman Brendan Smith to the New York Rangers and forward Tomas Jurco to the Chicago Blackhawks.

11:50 a.m. Wednesday

The Detroit Red Wings have traded forward Thomas Vanek to the Florida Panthers, according to Elliote Friedman from SportsNet.

In exchange, the Red Wings will get a third round pick, Friedman reports. According to Bob McKenzie from TSN, Detroit will also get right-handed defeseman Dylan McIlrath and they will retain 50 percent of Vanek's salary.

McIlrath is 24 and will be 25 in April. He was drafted in 2010 by the New York Rangers and was with Florida's AHL-affiliate Springfield Thunderbirds.

He had one goal and three assists in 18 games.

According to Craig Custance from ESPN, the third-round pick goes from the Panthers' third-round pick to the Coyotes' third-round pick if Florida makes the playoffs.

This is the Red Wings' fourth move ahead of the trade deadline at 3 p.m. On Tuesday, they traded defenseman Brendan Smith to the New York Rangers for a third round pick this year and a second round pick in 2017.

They also traded forward Steve Ott to the Montreal Canadiens early Wednesday morning and sent Tomas Jurco to the Chicago Blackhawks last week.

11:42 a.m. Wednesday

It appears that the Detroit Red Wings are not done making moves ahead of the 3 p.m. trade deadline.

According to Ken Campbell from The Hockey News, GM Ken Holland is talking to multiple teams about trading forward Thomas Vanek.

A source told Campbell that the Florida Panthers are "making a strong push" to get Vanek and that it appears he will be moving today.

Vanek, 33, was signed to a one-year contract in the offseason and will become a free agent after the season.

According to Elliote Friedman, both the Florida Panthers and Los Angeles Kings are interested in Vanek.

He has provided a boost to the Red Wings offense and leads the team in goals with 15. He is also second in points with 38.

11 a.m. Wednesday

The Detroit Red Wings have recalled left winger Mitch Callahan from the Grand Rapids Griffins. After trading Steve Ott to the Montreal Canadiens early Wednesday morning and the possibility of trading Thomas Vanek, the team needed to update the roster.

Callahan, 25, has appeared in 53 games for the Griffins this year, scoring 14 goals and totaling 36 points.

He was drafted in the sixth round of the 2009 draft and has appeared in 352 games with the Griffins over the course of six seasons.

10:15 a.m. Wednesday

There are two teams interested in trading for Detroit red wings forward Thomas Vanek.

According to Elliote Friedman, both the Florida Panthers and Los Angeles Kings could be working the phones to trade for Vanek.

Vanek signed a one-year deal with the Red Wings in the offseason and would become an unrestricted free agent after the season ends.

He has provided a major boost to the team's offense. He leads the team with 15 goals and is second in points with 38.

2 a.m. Wednesday

Veteran forward Steve Ott was the latest Red Wings player to be moved ahead of Wednesday's trade deadline.

The team sent the 34-year-old forward to the Montreal Canadiens for a sixth-round draft pick in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.

Rumors began brewing on Tuesday night when Ott was a healthy scratch for Tuesday's game against the Vancouver Canucks.

It is the Red Wings' third trade so far ahead of the deadline. On Tuesday afternoon, they sent defenseman Brendan Smith to the New York Rangers for two draft picks and sent forward Tomas Jurco to the Chicago Blackhawks for a draft pick last week.

Ott had three goals and three assists for the Red Wings after signing a one-year contract in July. He, along with Brendan Smith and Thomas Vanek, are scheduled to become unrestricted free agents on July 1.

Vanek is another player that will most likely be dealt ahead of the 3 p.m. deadline. Despite missing multiple games due to injury, the 33-year-old is leading the team with 15 goals while his 23 assists are also good enough for second in the team in points.

There have been multiple teams interested in Vanek, according to reports.

10 p.m. Tuesday

Detroit Red Wings forward Steve Ott was a healthy scratch for the team's game against the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night.

There are rumors that the Montreal Canadiens were interested in 33-year-old. Ott signed a one-year contract in July and would become an unrestricted free agent following the season.

Gustav Nyquist was also a scratch, but that's because he is serving a six-game suspension for a high-stick.

Thomas Vanek did play in Thursday night's game despite his name being mentioned among many different teams as a possible trade.

12 p.m. Tuesday

The Detroit Red Wings made their second trade ahead of Wednesday's deadline, sending defenseman Brendan Smith to the New York Rangers in exchange for a third round draft pick this year and a second round pick next year.

Smith, 28, had spend his entire career with the Red Wings after being drafted in the first round of the 2007 draft.

He has played 291 games with the Red Wings, scoring 15 goals and 52 assists for 67 total points. He has only played in 33 games this season due to injury, scoring two goals and adding three assists.

Last week, Detroit traded forward Tomas Jurco to the Chicago Blackhawks for a second round pick this year.
