The Detroit Lions are reportedly looking to get rid of linebacker Devon Kennard, who is a team captain.
NFL Network Reporter Mike Garafolo said the team was releasing Kennard, but that was followed up by a report from Ian Rapoport, who said the team was in conversations to trade Kennard.
"He'll be on the move, but it could be in a trade," Rapoport said.
Kennard signed as a free agent with Detroit in 2018. The 28-year-old played in 31 of 31 games in his two seasons with Detroit, which included seven sacks in back-to-back seasons, as well as 104 tackles, 29 quarterback hits, an interception and three fumble recoveries.
On Twitter, Kennard said there was "no loyalty in this biz."
