Kirk Gibson has been fighting Parkinson's since his diagnosis in 2015.

He knew something was different with his body for years before that, and remembers how scared he was.

"When I heard I had Parkinson's disease, I thought I was gonna die," he told WXYZ.

The Tigers legend has focused his life on fighting.

Fighting for himself.

Fighting for his family members, who Gibson said have turned their lives upside down to help him.

Fighting for others who have Parkinson's.

Gibson has hosted a golf outing to raise funds for his foundation for four consecutive years. This year's event sold out, but the coronavirus forced a change.

The event will be a remote golf outing, from August 14-17. Golfers can sign up and play any course, paying a varying donation to receive Gibson-themed gear, and helping those with Parkinson's.
