High school football continuing workouts as safely as possible

The West Bloomfield football team has been surging over the last few seasons.

They're next opponent, is their toughest.

They, along with every other high school football team in the country, must figure out a way to keep their student-athletes safe as they resume conditioning, and then games, as the summer turns back towards fall.

"It's a challenge when you're telling kids every two seconds to spread out, but the kids are doing a good job so that they can have a football season," Lakers varsity coach Ron Bellamy said.

The protocols in place are right at the gate when the players arrive. They have temperature checks, hand sanitizer, as well as individual spaces for them to put their belongings.

The players understand there is a bigger picture with all of this, but at the same time want to be ready in case they do get the opportunity to play.
